Brown Deer Juniors is proud to announce that Laura Lee, an 8th grader at Brown Deer

Middle School, took 1st place with her untitled painting (of Martin Luther King) at the

GFWC-WI Helen Mears Art Contest that was held at the Wisconsin State Convention in early

May. Artworks from 7th & 8th graders from all over the state of Wisconsin were submitted

by Women's clubs all over the state! These artworks first placed at their local club contests,

and then at their district contests before being submitted at the Wisconsin Contest. Our

Brown Deer Juniors club is in the Lakeshore District.

We would like to thank Mr. Chris House, the Brown Deer Middle School Art Teacher that

encouraged his students to submit their artwork to our Local Contest in Brown Deer.
