Our "Thinking of You" Cards Project at Virginia Highlands Nursing Home was a big hit!   This success led to the Virginia Highlands Holiday Helpers effort.  Members wrote 152 Christmas/ holiday cards so that each resident will receive one during the holiday season.

This year, the residents will not have their traditional holiday party with homemade Christmas cookies due to the pandemic.  To help make things a little brighter, our members collected funds to purchase store-made Christmas fruitcakes, stollen and eggnog to serve as a treat in December. We were also able to provide holiday plates and napkins and some Christmas craft projects.

It will be a tough holiday season for the residents of Virginia Highlands and other care facilities, and we know that little acts of kindness such as these are so appreciated.
